One of the main ways that I cope with my mental illnesses is through music. I make playlists for everything. I am constantly searching for songs that can put words to the things that I am feeling. And when I find one of those, I will cherish it and stash it away into the appropriate playlist for whenever I need that reassurance.

Currently, I am trying to reconcile with my apparent obsessive-compulsive disorder. That topic is something I may dive into deeper at a later date. Right now, I just want to share the music that is getting me through it in so many ways.

Everything Is Alright by Motion City Soundtrack

This is a song that I listened to on repeat throughout the eighth grade and my freshman year of high school. I was dealing with the beginning of my extreme anxiety disorder and this song made me feel seen. It was around that time that I think I started developing OCD and my symptoms were severe. For many reasons, I never got the full mental health support that I truly needed at that time and these things I was experiencing went unchecked.

I only just recently rediscovered this song and started connecting it to my OCD. The lyrics are overwhelmingly relatable even to this day.
